I am getting really fed up with Spam eMails. Surely these people can’t be making money out of sending them, half of them can’t even talk English let alone spell.

    I would be very interested to know of any way to report them and get them banned. I know a lot of it is sent by using Automated sites. But surely we can do something to stamp it out ?

    I am no expert in this field but i am going to try to start a campaign against Spammers and make life as difficult as i can for them.

Pop - Ups for advertising are so annoying. Many times i have been reading about a product which i am interested in, i get half way through and a Pop - Up ad jumps on to the page. I am already reading about the product, so why throw a Pop - Up in my face ?

Sometimes they are hard to get rid of, and other times you will get another Pop - Up thrown at you saying ” don’t go yet, there is an agent waiting to speak to you “. Nine times out of Ten you will end up speaking to an automated system. And my first response is to get off the site as soon as i can.

I hate the damn things so much. And in some cases have not made a purchase because of the Pop - Up ad that i can’t get rid of.

There are a few good sites on the Internet whereby you do speak to a real life agent after getting a Pop - Up in your face. But these are quite rare. So my challenge to any one who reads this Blog is :

Tell me Two good reasons why people use annoying Pop - Ups to advertise something that we are already reading about.

Does advertising on Directories really work ?  For me it does. I own Two free Directories and Eight paid Directories. So i decided to carry out a small test.

I spent One month just doing SEO work on my Directories. I am convinced this alone helped to increase my PR on Google. I did no submissions at all to other Directories. I must admit that i was lucky in choosing  the month before an update and i know they are more inclined to give new sites some PR. Submissions to my Directories did not increase at all.

I then spent the next month submitting my Directories to other peoples Free Directories. Traffic has increased a lot, especially my free directories. I don’t know if this has helped PR as yet but i am sure it will. There has not been an update as yet.

I am half way through submitting Directories to other peoples Paid Directories, and i have already noticed another  increase in my traffic, but this month the increase has been to my paid Directories. The only conclusion that i can draw so far is that submitting to Paid Directories does pay.

It can be quite costly to begin with but it is definitely worth it. I will certainly carry on paying for submissions.

I know Google punished a lot of directory owners for buying links by dropping their PR, but i think they did that to try and scare people from directories because Google get no revenue form it.  This is the only reason for doing what they did, no matter what they say. That little word springs to mind JEALOUSY.

I was looking at advertising a couple of my websites on Yahoo  ( http://www.easylandscape.info/ ) and ( http://www.flyfishingvacation.info/ ). These are very popular sites, so i wouldn’t be wasting my money by advertising on Yahoo.

One of the ways to advertise with Yahoo is what they call Search marketing ” search engine marketing “. Basically people search on Yahoo and hopefully your ad appears in the results. Keep in mind that if the customer clicks on your site it will cost you, even if they don’t buy anything from you.

One other point to remember is that when you set up your ad campaign with Yahoo it will cast you 60 British pounds. This is not refundable, so be sure that this is the way you want to go.

Another way to advertise with Yahoo is called Media Solutions. This is more commonly known as ” mobile Internet advertising “. This is a more costly way of advertising and i couldn’t actually get a fixed price.

What i really found interesting was the fact that Yahoo, without you knowing, actually use what they call ” behavioural targeting which involves them anonymously following someones interests, patterns and behaviours. They can then target you to receive the relevant ad which i would be paying for.

I have not yet decided which way would be the best to advertise my websites, but Yahoo is definately worth lookng at as far as i am concerned. Although at the moment i am not sure if i can justify spending the sort of money Yahoo charge.

I might give it Media Solutions a go for one month to see how it goes, and post the results on this Blog.

I started this Blog so that i could let people know about what i thought were decent advertisements and what were bad advertisements. Whilst i am having no difficulty in finding the bad ones, i am struggling to find any good ones, not that i am going looking for them. I am sure the decent ones will find me, if there are any. I am also hoping that if any people reading this post come across any decent adverts, they might like to let me know about them. I am not promising that i will agree with them . But i am interested to see what people class as a good advertisement. I know that i am probably going to get flooded with spam, but please donot use this as a chance to advertise your own personal sites.

I think that advertising by submitting web sites to Directories is a must these days. It is certainly the fastest way to get your name known in the Internet industry. Their are millions of people from all over the world viewing Directories every minute of every day, and it has certainly worked for me. I must spend the best part of Four hours a day submitting my sites to Directories. I own a total of Ten Directories myself, and judging by the amount of submissions that i get every day to my Directories their are a lot of people who agree with me.

I own and run Ten Directories. Two of them are free and the others are paid. Just recently i have been getting these Pornographic site owners trying to submit to my directories, especially my free ones. I don’t allow any sites with this sort of content to be listed on any of my directories, and this fact is clearly stated on each one. Some of the tricks they try to get listed amaze me. One of their favourites is to try and advertise as a clothing site. When you check the site out there is not a stitch of clothing to be seen. Do they think that we don’t check submissions to free directories. I certainly do check, and if any do manage to slip through they are off of my sites as soon as i spot them whether they have paid or not. What does surprise me is the fact that once i have checked and found one of these sites, and deleted it, i seem to get a lot more ( Spam ) from Porn sites. The amazing thing is that i have never signed up for any of this sort of smutt.

Ads by email. I have never seen such rubbish in my life. We have all received those annoying Spam email Ads. You know the ones, ” SEO company India, expert SEO company ” . Unless you are new to the Internet, which is who they are targeting, we all know that it is probably one person sat at the other end on a computer charging you a fortune in some cases. All they are doing is using one of these rubbish automated programs. If you are interested in doing your own Search Engine Optimisation work, then why not purchase an automated system for yourself. Personally i prefer to do my own manual seo. This way i know exactly what is going in to my site. I must admit that it is boring work, but at the end i find it very satisfying to know that i did it all myself. The best way i found to stop the Spam is to totally ignore the email, don’t even open it. Eventually it does stop. I found that clicking the unsubscribe button does not work. In fact it gets worse in many cases.
